A Grateful Heart
Dear friend,
The sun shines through the cold of a February afternoon. Phone on silent, watching Zara as she pads across the wild marsh in search of life in the undergrowth. Just this is enough to fill my heart with a warm, expansive feeling. One foot in front of the next.
The way she comes and briefly nuzzles the side of my left knee. Checking in with each other, time melting around us.
Joy and appreciation weaving the fabric of the day.
We’re always choosing.
Love and gratitude are a choice.
If you want to know the intelligence behind the manifested world of things, you can look at a flower.
Or a tree.
Or the perfect disc of fire pouring its golden light into our world.
Even the briefest moment of rest can shift the momentum of the mind.
The more we look for the good,
The more we find.
A simple question:
“What is already present that I have not yet noticed?”
Till tomorrow
Love
Mikey
