Beyoncé Time Again
Dear friend,
Cowboy hats are everywhere in the streets around our home. Beyoncé is back, playing the stadium. There’s a sign in the local Aldi supermarket refusing to sell alcohol to concertgoers because of restrictions in their off-sales license.
I’m looking at it wondering how you enforce a regulation like that. You could just take off your cowboy hat, presumably.
The sun has come out and it’s diverting to walk through the western-themed crowds. The sky blazing with light. Hearts beating. Minds skipping ahead or picking through the leftovers of the past.
I saw on a phone screen Greta Thunberg arriving at Paris airport after being deported from Israel. She hesitates a moment and then walks over to the awaiting press. I’m relieved to see her in one piece. It feels like a drop in the ocean—but then, the ocean is made of drops.
We all can affect peace in our own way.
Human intention is more powerful than we realise.
Even from your home, you can get quiet and focus on your heart area. Breathe and affirm peace. Become an ally to it. Our minds reach out and find one another, and we weave reality in our own image.
Become an image of peace.
Let a space open up inside you where you rest, and through which you offer rest to those trapped in frightening circumstances. We’ve been conditioned to believe power is solely outside of ourselves, but a part of each of us is realising otherwise.
Trust that part.
Fall in love with it.
The Sufis call it the Beloved.
A deeply intimate relationship with the divine.
Personal and universal.
Our minds can’t comprehend the universal, but we do know how it is to have a friend—and to be in love with them. The divine is the Friend.
For millennia, debased men—mostly men—have used the image of the divine to serve their instinct for power and control and possession.
It’s so intense now we can’t ignore it.
And so it becomes a catalyst for change.
They will exhaust themselves with all of the hurt they inflict.
They will find their so-called treasure is nothing but trash to them—even if it is the very soul of the world they wish to possess—they will fail.
And darkness will come to claim them.
These waking nightmares will pass.
The light will wait until they are ready to atone for their mistakes.
Compassion, you see, is unreasonable and permits no exceptions.
A fly just flew up my left nostril making it itch.
If someone is using their earthly power to destroy, then you see their weakness.
In love, we are strong.
Till tomorrow
Love
Mikey
