Dear Friend,
This morning feels very still. Yesterday evening’s workshop was beautifully warm gathering of souls, and an exercise for me in surrender. I’d done my due diligence in structuring the session, prepared slides and honed in on the key insights I wished to share.
The team hosting from the Miracles Network, gently suggested that they would rather see a person than a powerpoint, and so the slides were put aside and the session unfolded organically. How else could it have been?
Over the years whenever I’m called on to show up as a speaker or leader, the feedback tends to be that it is a lack of slickness and polish in my approach that’s most appreciated. It’s not that I don’t prepare. I do.
Then there’s the unexpected like Siri opening up and joining in on my laptop, right at the point where I was finally getting into some of the graphic aids. Not to mention the needs and wishes of the group. The actual living beings with whom we dance. You got to read the room. Respond rather than react.
I wonder if I’ll ever grow out of wanting to be a good boy? You wonder who you’re trying to impress, and then it shows itself. The idea we have of who we ought to be, the persona that have formed since we were young. Each wayward moment an opportunity to shed these outworn tattered robes for something original, the original us. Ever new, inventive creators that we are.
So much peace and freedom when we let go of our clinging to past and future. Bringing our attention back to this moment. Everything we are searching for is here now. Not the events we are planning. Not the material things we are wanting. Our yet to be unfulfilled wants and desires are in the future, precisely because they exist only as thoughts, images, concepts in our mind.
The future is a mind made, yet to be reality.
The past also mind made.
The happiness we seek, the peace, can only be experienced now. Mindful of our fearful thinking, in the fullness of appreciation, we uncover a heavenly realm on earth.
Many humans are living through an evolutionary stage where we believe the thoughts in our minds simply because we are thinking them. Trapped in thoughts, so often we create hell.
Look at the war mongers shouting in their sleep, acting out insane fantasies.
All will pass.
When it does, it will be as always now.
Eternal creatures. Creating.
All across our world, groups and individuals are invested in peace. Paradoxically this involves a lot of planning and preparation. Organising in the name of peace, it helps to find that inside of ourselves now.
The world is in turmoil. Maybe it’s always been so. Do not under estimate the value of you seeking peace within. This is an inside out world.
What we feel and believe on the inside, we act out and create on the outside.
Carve out some time for yourself today. To be still, if only for a moment, breathe. Think of something that is good right now and say an inner thank you. For no reason.
Invite in the peace that passeth all understanding.
It is waiting for you.
Peace be with you.
Till tomorrow
Love
Mikey
