Dear friend,
Even if the thing you are doing is one of those things you could do or talk about forever, or until it’s time to go home, or your body needs rest or food or a stretch or a change of scenery, or you’re just needed somewhere else.
Take a break.
Let it all go, and sink gently into the moment, free of agenda.
The mind has an incredible momentum to it. It’s easy for your toe to touch the fast-moving stream of thinking and before you know it, the toe has become a foot and you’re off and away in the powerful currents of your own mind.
Muddy waters covering your head.
Take a break.
Climb out of the river.
Sit or walk its banks.
Look at the swollen eddies.
See how the branches from the trees have broken and flown in the storm.
Leaves spinning.
Raining on the surface of the glassy pitch and roll of the waters, concentric ripples like the fluid skin of a gigantic serpent longing to feel you in its belly.
You, in the stillness of the air, observing the wonder of all these moving parts.
One amongst them.
No future moment to get to.
Eternity unfolding with each breath.
Each breath a lifetime.
Even if the thing seems like the all and all.
Take a break.
Till tomorrow
Love
Mikey
